The TMC of the Future. It's no secret the rise of consumer tools and increased traveler data has created challenges for TMCs and corporate travel managers: fragmented data, lack of visibility, compliance control and so on, but they have provided so much opportunity too. The next big thing is always near and will undoubtedly affect our industry the way open booking, supplier direct booking, mobile and social have ... so how do TMCs take advantage of these great innovations and be prepared for any future changes? And, even more importantly, what does the future look like for TMCs and travel managers? We will discuss our vision about how TMCs and travel managers will evolve in the future.

Mike Koetting is Concur’s EVP of Supplier and TMC services.  Based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Mike joined Concur in 2010 and is responsible for the travel supplier, GDS and TMC relationships of Concur and TripIt.  As one of the architects of Concur’s TripLink solution to open booking, Mike and his team negotiated and implemented the first TripLink for Supplier agreements, enabling travelers to benefit from a managed travel experience when booking directly with suppliers.

Prior to joining Concur Mike held a variety of senior positions at Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Maritz Corporate Travel.  Mike is a member of the Business Travel News Advisory Panel and a board member of StayNTouch.  He has served on the Board of the GBTA Foundation and Business Travel News named him one of the 25 Most Influential Travel Executives of 2006.  Mike began his career as a CPA with Price Waterhouse and he is also a six-time Ironman and altruistic kidney donor.
